Hey Geoff,
I read this a month ago and have been meaning to comment. I think it’s so cool that you’re keeping chickens for eggs. I have done this for about a decade, and I think it’s taught me just a little about what it takes to put food on the table. I think kids learn a lot by being involved, as much as possible, with the process of raising food.
I’ve discovered for myself that one of the things that motivates me is that I want to do as much as possible to stem the tide in my life of being a consumer. Most of what I eat, drive, wear… heck, you name it,is produced and maintained by other people. I guess, when it comes to food, it’s pretty scary how things are raised and the quality of what we eat is becoming a big concern too. But who can I blame if I don’t do anything at all to be a part of the process?
Keep up the good work.
