Easier to do at home, harder when visiting my parents, who aren’t Christian. Also, it becomes easy to forget, for some reason.

We use a local box scheme. The good thing is that it makes sure we eat more fruit & veg. The cost for us is £6:00 each for the boxes, and £1:50 delivery. £13:50 in all. Another good thing is that we get fruit and veg which we wouldn’t normally buy (Black Kale, corn on the cob, that sort of thing). So, our tastes are being widened, and our cooking better & more varied. Thanks to the net for being a treasure trove for recipes.
Switch To Energy Saving Lightbulbs - 04 Oct 2005
I get asked every year, as a disabled person, if I would like some free low energy bulbs. I always say yes. Now we have them in nearly all the places we can. It’s worth checking all those on disability, if they are entitled to free bulbs, as they can be expensive. When you have enough for yourself, start to give them away.
Recycle Your Stuff - 04 Oct 2005
It’s worth remebering charity shops when you’re oruning books, cd’s etc, they’re almost always pleased to be given sellable stuff.
Choose to have one meat-free day a week in your home - 04 Oct 2005
I used to be veggie, but I’m not anymore. I’m afraid a couple of things made me cave in. One was going away for a weekend in the Lakes with a group of friends, and going to the only place (of four) that said they did vege food. When we got there, I was offered one dish. No choice. Secondly, at a friends, I realised I missed eating chicken more than the Quorn I was eating. We do eat a lot more vege than meat, mainly because it’s cheaper. Vege chilli’s, casserolle’s, soup’s, stuffed peppers, all sorts of things. I would make curries, but my better half isn’t keen.
Get Rid of Your Car - OK, ambitious, but... - 04 Oct 2005
We didn’t have a car and were managing OK. Then I became disabled and the car is a must. Without it I’m basically housebound. I do try to use it as little as possible.
Slap a Ticket on an Urban 4x4 - 18 Feb 2006
It may be that I’m forced to drive one of these in the near future. Injury means a higher car is needed (back problems). If I do have to get one, please don’t sticker me, as without a car, i’m housebound.
