Shelve The Bottled Water - 27 May 2008
I’m not sure we’ve ever bought bottled water at home, and very rarely when we’re out – we almost always take our own tap water in reusable (plastic) bottles. I guess it dates from school lunches.
Our office has just decided to stop providing bottled water at meetings, and will provide tap water in jugs instead. This is part of a government wide policy (see e.g. http://www.planetark.com/dailynewsstory.cfm/newsid/47408/story.htm)
Relieve The Postie - Get Your Bills Online Instead - 27 May 2008
I get most of my bills online, and file them on the computer.
I wonder why Royal Mail is encouraging this? After all, when they don’t have bills to deliver, they’ll only be left with junk mail!
Will My Son Become The Local Blacksmith? - 27 May 2008
I love living in a town which has a real cobbler, but I don’t know who’s going to do the job when he finally (insert whatever old cobblers do…)
Choose to have one meat-free day a week in your home - 16 Jun 2009
This has been normal for years, and we’ve brought up three huge teenage boys on it. Actually it’s more like alternating meat & non-meat evening meals, and only occasionally having ham, pate or some such in the sandwiches.
I’ve been staying with my parents 2-3 nights a week for almost a year, and have pursuaded them I don’t need so much meat – and it’s probably doing them good too!
But still, I thought it was time to sign up for one of these actions again.

Brought up green; came to Christian faith in my teens. Pleased to re-discover, recently, that some Christians are taking environmental issues seriously.
Here’s hoping we’ve been taking ‘loving your neighbour’ seriously anyway!
