nctimbers is yet to impart any wisdom unto the gathered masses.

nctimbers This is nctimbers’s profile page.

I am a 40-something resident of the village of West Wycombe in Bucks, where I have the honour to serve as a member of a very active and committed parish council.

I have long been committed to ethical and sustainable patterns of behaviour. I joined Friends of the Earth as a teenager in around 1978, at the same time as becoming a political activist as a member of the Liberal Party (until 1988) and then subsequently the Liberal Democrats.

I made these choices because of my over-riding concern with safeguarding the environment for this and future generations.

I chose my career, and my university course, for the same reason – I wanted to create for myself a career whereby I could put something into society in an environmentally-sustainable way, and in a commercial environment, so I have spent the 20 or so years since I graduated by working in the bus and coach industry, providing public transport services.

I have recently joined Amnesty International, ans support the NO2ID campaign, concerned as I am too with the erosion of civil liberties in the UK, and with their continued abuse in many parts of the world.
