  1. Make Your Own Greetings Cards -

Making your own cards is definitely a win-win situation! You save money on buying horrendously expensive commercial cards as well as the paper etc, and folk feel extra special that you’ve taken the time to create something just for them. Great all round! An extra challenge is to use the odds and ends you already have around the house rather than buying new materials. The simplist ideas are often the best.

  3. Switch To Energy Saving Lightbulbs -

This morning the postman delivered EIGHT energy saving lightbulbs! And they were free! If you are on a low income look out for ‘warm deal’ or ‘warm front’ grants, or the like, from your energy company, or google it and see if you could be eligible. Pity you don’t get a choice of fittings but anyway I’m off to find homes for mine now…

  4. Improve your home's energy efficiency -

Check out www.eaga.co.uk for grants for insulation, cavity wall, lightbulbs, tank jackets etc. Especially for those on low incomes.

Even if you are in rented accommodation you are still eligible – if you get your landlords permission.

Does anyone know if you can buy low energy bulbs with screw fittings?
