  1. Use your LOAF at the shops (Local, Organic, Animal-Friendly and Fair Trade) -

Recently moved to smaller, rural town & am now within walking distance of Farmers market, butchers, bakers & local organic/fairtrade/wholefood shop – there’s no excuse not to give this one a try! Hardest thing seems to be breaking the long established habit of a weekly supermarket shop.

  2. Make A Positive Lifestyle Change And Tell Us About It -

After a couple of years of uneasy disatisfaction, we began to realise that we rarely made active decisions (prefering to let life ‘happen’ to us). Our biggest choices kids, the house, the car… but ten years had passed & we realised we weren’t who or where we wanted to be. This years Greenbelt was our first with the kids & a HUGE challenge to us both. We knew it was time to make that leap into the unknown. Six months on & God has been faithful. Moving house is never without complications, but we have felt guided here time & again. We’ve swapped Milton Keynes for rural Oswestry (Shropshire), Tom is excited by his new job (despite the extra responsibilities) & the kids are settling well into a new school. It’s a positive lifestyle change for us – to be pro-active rather than wonder ‘what if’. The Generous opportunities are all around – new people/church/community/local farmers & shops to support/a chance to re-evaluate how we’re living &raising the kids/looking out for God at work each day. It’s hard & scary but a great big adventure… which is kinda fun!

  3. Turn Off The Tap When Brushing Your Teeth -

Trying really hard to remember this – sad to confess it seems my habit is to leave the tap running. Keep reminding the kids so they, in turn, are reminding me. Handy!

We’re virtual inhabitants of Watling Valley (having recently moved to Oswestry, Shropshire). There’s the 2 of us, plus 2 VERY noisy small people. Having uprooted the family from our home of the last 10 years it seems a good time to make other changes & try to live a more generous lifestyle!
