  1. Compost Your Leftovers -

I’ve been composting for a few years and I have 4 bins on the go and I still never make enough to satisfy my needs. If you are brave enough adding urine to the heap helps it break down quicker and also adds goodness to the compost.

  2. Put A Save-A-Flush Device In Your Cistern -

Anglian water would only send me 2, I cound do with a couple more for the loos at work.

  3. Switch To Energy Saving Lightbulbs -

I have changed all the light bulbs, that have fittings for low energy bulbs, in the house over the last few months. As a bulb died I replaced it with an energy saver.

The rest in the house are Hologen’s. Are these any good, or power hungrey?

  4. Love books? Join the library -

Done this for years and I love my library. MrF and I go most weeks and always try and use the mobile library when it comes to the village.

Use your libraries or they will get shut down.

  5. Ditch The Disposable Items -

Hubby got me a mooncup for my birthday (I had requested this lol) they are great. I try and avoid disposable items when ever possiable, bring back the hanky I say!

  6. Dry clothes outdoors. -

I hate using the tumble dryer, costs a fortune and clothes just dont smell/feel the same as line dried clothes. Same as spougej manage to dry over the bath in winter.

I live in rural North Lncolnshire, love gardening and grow loads of veg. I try and live as earth friendly as I can but I have to drive miles and miles a week due to my job.I’m hoping a year of Living Generously will off set the guilt a bit :-)
