  1. Give Your Unwanted / Unworn Clothes To Charity -

I just went through my closet and took everything I haven’t been wearing and dropped it off. It ended up being 2 large bag full. Amazing what you end up holding onto for little/no reason.

Now if I can go through the rest of my stuff and get rid of the un-necessaries I’ve been holding onto, I’d be in better shape.

  2. Stop Taking Plastic Bags From Shops -

I run into what Phil was talking about alot, but as I shop in the same places frequently they eventually see it coming. I also tend to start shopping at stores that ‘reward’ people who bring their own bags (Wholefoods give you a couple cents for each bag you bring in yourself – I’m sure to a point)

It would be nice if (especially smaller purchases) the store made bags and opt-in, instead of an opt-out. You’d have to ask for a bag. But that would require a change at the store level… I guess we can hope.

  3. Switch off and unplug appliances and chargers -

I’m not sure that I believe the 95% number, but its a small task. Around the house (with 5 adults living here) I find tons fo chargers plugged in – for phones, laptops, games – and it’s gotten really easy just to unplug them.

As a routine I now just unplug everything on the way in and out of the house. I can’t measure the result, but I usually feel better leaving the house when I do. (I forgot once on the way to work. Half way there I had to call home to make sure someone did it for me)
